Biography
Burr J. Travis, formerly a partner with the Northern Kentucky law firm of Busald Funk and Zevely P.S.C., currently serving as Of Counsel with the firm. He has been with the firm since 1981.
He concentrates his practice in criminal law and personal injury clients. He has represented literally thousands of individuals.
Mr. Travis received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1973, Magna Cum Laude and his Juris Doctorate from Salmon P. Chase School of Law in 1977.
Mr. Travis also was an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Kenton County Kentucky for almost four and half years spearheading a felony drug program involving the prosecution and various drug treatment programs for drug offenders. Additionally, he has received many local community and state awards for his efforts in the drug treatment area.
He also heads a Northern Kentucky charity since 1978 (Toys for Kids) which has provided toys for approximately twenty-five thousand local children.
Mr. Travis also was on the Kentucky Racing Commission from 2007-2016 serving as Chairman of Licensing and also has been on the Board of the Kentucky Racing and Welfare Fund since 2018.
Burr is also recognized by Martindale-Hubbell as an AV Preeminent Attorney.
