Admitted in Kentucky and Ohio and practicing since 1995, I represent businesses and individuals on matters arising under the Title VII, ADA, FMLA, and ERISA. I provide representation on matters arising in administrative forums such as the KCHR, EEOC, and Kentucky Unemployment Commission. My goal is to provide affordable access to legal counsel and offer flat monthly rates for guidance and consultation on employee human resource issues such as hiring, training, leaves of absence, management policies, and termination. This alternative to the traditional hourly rate allows businesses to budget a fixed cost, eliminate distractions, and focus on business objectives.
Practice includes defense and prosecution of discrimination and retaliation claims pursuant to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Civil Rights Act of 1871 (Section 1983), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and KRS 342.197 (Workers' Compensation), counseling on legal issues relative to hiring, training, performance management, benefits and compensation, risk management, and termination, and contracts, privacy consumer claims pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and insurance defense. Experience includes litigation of claims in federal and state courts and Kentucky and Ohio, appellate advocacy in Kentucky, Ohio, and Sixth circuit courts of appeals, alternative dispute resolution (including mediation and arbitration) , and administrative proceedings before the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Ohio Commission on Human Rights, and Kentucky and Ohio Unemployment Commissions.
