About Michael J. McMain

I am a member of The Academy of Northern Kentucky Collaborative Professionals — this is a group of lawyers who offer, as an alternative, the option for divorce clients to settle cases without court intervention. In an informal setting, couples are encouraged to take a mature, cooperative, non-combative approach. The couples and their attorneys agree to avoid litigation, thus creating an environment where all involved are committed to reaching an efficient, mutually agreeable settlement… out of the courtroom.

In addition, I have previously volunteered my time to the AIM Program (Attendance, Intervention, and Mediation) — a truancy diversion initiative (or Truancy Court) that was implemented on-site in three Boone County Schools.  Each participating school selected 8 to 10 students in the 8 to 14 age range who are habitual truants or who are in the process of becoming habitual truants. I served as a “judge” who agreed to meet with the students and families on a weekly basis during the school year to discuss and monitor the problems that impact the truancy behavior. The AIM Program fostered positive attitudes towards school and increased the participation in school activities by both youth and parents.  The Boone County AIM Program, of which I was a part, received the “Kentucky Child Now Destiny Award”.  This award was given to recognize individuals and organizations who have made a significant impact on the future of Kentucky’s children and youth.

If you are interested in an experienced lawyer who has been trying cases for over 34 years, call me and allow me to help you through your legal issues with respect and compassion.
